Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Chop the onion, bell pepper, tomato, and garlic. Cube or shred the beef and carne-seca, and slice the paio and bacon.

  2. 2

    Cook the Bacon

In a large skillet or pot, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove and set aside, leaving the bacon fat in the skillet.

  3. 3

    Sauté Vegetables

In the same skillet, add the onions and garlic, sautéing until translucent. Add the bell pepper and tomato, cooking for an additional 3-4 minutes.

  4. 4

    Add Meats

Stir in the cubed beef, carne-seca, and paio sausage. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the meats are browned.

  5. 5

    Add Rice and Water

Add the rice to the pot, stirring to combine with the meat and vegetables. Pour in the water and season with salt and black pepper. Bring to a boil.

  6. 6

    Simmer

Once boiling, reduce heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for about 20 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and the liquid is absorbed.

  7. 7

    Finish and Serve

Remove from heat, fluff the rice with a fork, and stir in the chopped parsley. Serve hot, garnished with the crispy bacon.
