    Prepare the Breading

    In a medium bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix well.

    Create the Batter

    In another bowl, whisk together the milk and half of the dry mixture until smooth.

    Coat the Cheese Curds

    Dunk the cheddar cheese curds into the batter, then dredge them in the remaining dry mixture until fully coated.

    Heat the Oil

    In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

    Carefully add the coated cheese curds to the hot oil in batches. Fry for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
