Turnover Filling

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Filling

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Stir in the chopped spinach and cook until wilted. Add the shredded chicken, cilantro, salt, and pepper, and mix well. Remove from heat and let cool.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Pastry

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface. Cut each sheet into squares, about 6 inches in size.

  3. 3

    Assemble the Turnovers

Place a spoonful of the chicken filling on one half of each pastry square. Fold the pastry over to create a triangle and seal the edges by crimping with a fork.

  4. 4

    Bake the Turnovers

Place the turnovers on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with a little olive oil. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

  5. 5

    Prepare the Yogurt Foam

While the turnovers are baking, mix the Greek yogurt with a little water to thin it out and create a foamy texture. Add salt and pepper to taste.

  6. 6

    Serve

Once the turnovers are cooked, remove them from the oven and let cool slightly. Serve warm with the yogurt foam drizzled on top.
