Crab Cakes

Chili Oil Drizzle

Method

Crab Cakes

  1. 1

    Prepare the Crab Mixture

In a large bowl, combine the fresh crab meat, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, chopped parsley, and egg. Mix gently until well combined.

  2. 2

    Add Breadcrumbs

Gradually fold in the breadcrumbs, salt, and black pepper until the mixture holds together. Be careful not to overmix.

  3. 3

    Form the Cakes

Using your hands, form the mixture into patties, about 3 inches in diameter. Place them on a plate and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.

  4. 4

    Cook the Crab Cakes

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the crab cakes and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and keep warm.

Charred Lemon Aioli

  1. 5

    Char the Lemon

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cut the lemon in half and place it cut-side down on the grill. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until charred.

  2. 6

    Make the Aioli

In a bowl, whisk together the egg yolk, lemon juice, and minced garlic. Slowly drizzle in the olive oil while whisking continuously until the mixture emulsifies and thickens. Season with salt and pepper.

Cucumber-Onion Salad

  1. 7

    Mix Salad Ingredients

In a bowl, combine diced cucumber, sliced red onion, and chopped dill.

  2. 8

    Dress the Salad

Drizzle with olive oil and red wine vinegar. Season with salt and black pepper. Toss gently to combine.

Chili Oil Drizzle

  1. 9

    Prepare the Chili Oil

In a small saucepan, heat olive oil over low heat. Add red chili flakes and minced garlic. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until fragrant. Remove from heat and let cool.
