Method

Pasta Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Linguine

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the linguine and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.

Cooking Shrimp and Sausage

  1. 2

    Sauté the Andouille Sausage

In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil. Add the sliced andouille sausage and cook until browned, about 4-5 minutes. Remove sausage from the skillet and set aside.

  2. 3

    Cook the Shrimp

In the same skillet, add the shrimp. Season with Cajun seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Cook until shrimp are pink and opaque, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove shrimp and set aside.

Making the Sauce

  1. 4

    Sauté the Trinity

In the same skillet, add the minced garlic, diced bell pepper, onion, and celery. Cook until vegetables are softened, about 5-7 minutes.

  2. 5

    Prepare the Cream Sauce

Pour in the heavy cream and stir to combine. Bring to a simmer and cook for 3-4 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

Combining Everything

  1. 6

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add the cooked linguine, shrimp, and andouille sausage back to the skillet. Toss to coat in the creamy sauce. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.

  2. 7

    Garnish and Serve

Remove from heat. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.
