Salad Base

Buttermilk Vinaigrette

Corn Bread Croutons

Method

Prepare the Salad Base

  1. 1

    Wash and Chop the Vegetables

Rinse the mixed greens under cold water and pat them dry. Chop the tomato and cucumber into bite-sized pieces. Thinly slice the red onion.

  2. 2

    Combine the Salad Base

In a large salad bowl, combine the mixed greens, chopped tomato, cucumber, and red onion. Toss gently to mix.

Make the Buttermilk Vinaigrette

  1. 3

    Whisk the Ingredients

In a small bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, honey, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

  2. 4

    Dress the Salad

Drizzle the vinaigrette over the salad and toss gently to coat all the ingredients evenly.

Prepare the Corn Bread Croutons

  1. 5

    Cut the Cornbread

Cut the cornbread into small cubes (about 1 inch in size).

  2. 6

    Season and Bake the Croutons

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a bowl, toss the cornbread cubes with olive oil, garlic powder, and salt. Spread the cubes on a baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes or until golden and crispy.

Assemble the Salad

  1. 7

    Top the Salad

Once the croutons are ready, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly. Add the croutons to the salad and toss gently.

  2. 8

    Serve

Serve the Bubba Salad immediately, garnished with additional black pepper if desired.
