Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Finely chop the yellow onion and set aside.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patties

In a skillet over medium-high heat, add a little oil. Form the ground beef into four equal patties. Season with salt and pepper. Add the chopped onions directly on top of each patty and smash them down with a spatula. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the bottom is browned.

  3. 3

    Add Cheese

Flip the patties and immediately place a slice of American cheese on each patty. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Fry Bread

While the patties are cooking, heat the fry bread in a separate pan or in the oven until golden and crispy.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Burger

On each piece of fry bread, place a cheese-topped patty, add a generous dollop of 1000 Island dressing, and top with pickles. Finish with another piece of fry bread on top.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the Apache Burgers immediately while hot with extra pickles on the side.
