Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Pat the ribeye steaks dry with paper towels. In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and chopped fresh rosemary. Rub this mixture all over the steaks, ensuring they are evenly coated.

  2. 2

    Let it Rest

Cover the seasoned steaks with plastic wrap and let them rest at room temperature for about 30 minutes. This allows the flavors to penetrate the meat and helps the steak cook more evenly.

Grilling

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to high heat (about 450°F to 500°F). If using a charcoal grill, allow the coals to burn down until they are covered with white ash.

  2. 4

    Grill the Steaks

Once the grill is hot, place the seasoned steaks on the grill. For medium-rare, grill for about 4-5 minutes on each side. Use tongs to flip the steaks, avoiding piercing the meat to retain juices.

  3. 5

    Add Butter (Optional)

During the last minute of grilling, add a tablespoon of butter on each steak for added flavor and juiciness.

Resting and Serving

  1. 6

    Let it Rest

Once done, remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for 5-10 minutes. This helps redistribute the juices throughout the meat.

  2. 7

    Serve

Serve the grilled steaks with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the meat. Enjoy your perfectly grilled steak!
