Method
Preparation of Taco Meat
- 1
Cook the Ground Beef
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes.
- 2
Add Taco Seasoning
Once the beef is browned, drain any excess fat. Add the taco seasoning and water to the skillet. Stir until well combined.
- 3
Simmer the Meat
Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until the sauce thickens.
Assembling the Salad
- 4
Prepare the Base
In a large serving bowl, layer the corn chips at the bottom, followed by the chopped lettuce.
- 5
Add the Taco Meat
Spoon the prepared taco meat evenly over the lettuce.
- 6
Add Toppings
Sprinkle the shredded Pepper Jack cheese over the taco meat. Dice the tomato and onion, then add them on top.
- 7
Finish with Salsa and Sour Cream
Drizzle salsa over the top and add dollops of sour cream as desired.
- 8
Serve
Toss gently to combine, or serve as is for individuals to mix together. Enjoy!
