Base

Method

Base Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

  2. 2

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, beat the eggs and then add the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.

  3. 3

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix; some lumps are okay.

  4. 4

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13-inch baking pan.

  5. 5

    Bake the Base

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  6. 6

    Cool Base

Once baked, remove the pan from the oven and let it cool completely in the pan.

Filling Preparation

  1. 7

    Prepare Cream Cheese Filling

In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and lemon juice. Beat with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.

  2. 8

    Spread Filling

Once the base has cooled, spread the cream cheese filling evenly over the top using a spatula.

Topping Preparation

  1. 9

    Prepare Strawberries

Wash the fresh strawberries, remove the stems, and slice them if desired.

  2. 10

    Add Topping

Top the cream cheese filling with the fresh strawberries. Drizzle with whipped cream for added flavor and decoration.
