Seasoning and Cooking Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Vegetables

Thinly slice the onion, green bell pepper, and mushrooms.

  2. 2

    Season the Beef

In a bowl, season the thinly sliced beef with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix well to ensure the beef is evenly coated.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Sauté the Vegetables

In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and green bell peppers. Sauté for about 5 minutes until they begin to soften.

  2. 4

    Add Mushrooms

Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and continue to sauté for an additional 3-4 minutes, until all vegetables are tender. Remove from skillet and set aside.

  3. 5

    Cook the Beef

In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Increase the heat to medium-high and add the seasoned beef. Cook for about 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the beef is browned and cooked through.

  4. 6

    Combine Ingredients

Return the sautéed vegetables to the skillet with the beef. Stir to combine and heat through for an additional minute.

  5. 7

    Add the Cheese

Place slices of Swiss cheese over the beef and vegetable mixture. Cover the skillet with a lid and let it sit for 2 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.

Assembly

  1. 8

    Toast the Rolls

While the cheese is melting, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Cut the hoagie rolls in half and place them on a baking sheet. Toast in the oven for about 5 minutes.

  2. 9

    Build the Sandwich

Remove the toasted rolls from the oven. Fill each roll with the beef and cheese mixture. Serve immediately.
