Method

Preparation of Vegetables

  1. 1

    Shred the Cabbage

Remove the outer leaves from the green and red cabbages. Cut them into quarters, remove the core, and then shred them using a sharp knife or a food processor until you have about 4 cups of shredded green cabbage and 1 cup of shredded red cabbage.

  2. 2

    Grate the Carrots

Peel the carrots and then grate them using a box grater or a food processor until you have about 2 cups of grated carrots.

Making the Dressing

  1. 3

    Combine Dressing Ingredients

In a large bowl, add 1 cup of mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar, 1 tablespoon of sugar, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, and 1 teaspoon of celery seeds.

  2. 4

    Mix Dressing

Whisk all the dressing ingredients together until smooth and well combined.

Combining Ingredients

  1. 5

    Combine Vegetables and Dressing

In the same large bowl, add the shredded green cabbage, shredded red cabbage, and grated carrots to the dressing. Mix well to ensure all vegetables are coated evenly with the dressing.

Chilling and Serving

  1. 6

    Chill the Slaw

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a lid and refrigerate the coleslaw for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld together.

  2. 7

    Serve

After chilling, give the coleslaw a good stir and serve as a side dish to your favorite meals.
