Method

Crust Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 2

    Combine Ingredients

In a medium mixing bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter. Mix until the crumbs are evenly coated and resemble wet sand.

  3. 3

    Form the Crust

Press the mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie pan to form an even crust.

  4. 4

    Bake the Crust

Bake the crust in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes or until lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let it cool.

Filling Preparation

  1. 5

    Melt Chocolate

In a medium saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it just begins to simmer. Remove from heat and add the semi-sweet chocolate chips. Stir until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.

  2. 6

    Combine Eggs and Sugar

In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and sugar until well combined. Gradually whisk in the chocolate mixture and add the vanilla extract.

  3. 7

    Fill the Crust

Pour the chocolate filling into the cooled pie crust, smoothing the top with a spatula.

  4. 8

    Bake the Pie

Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the filling is set but still slightly jiggly in the center. Remove from the oven and let cool to room temperature.

Topping Preparation

  1. 9

    Prepare Topping

Once the pie has cooled, spread the whipped cream evenly over the top.

  2. 10

    Garnish

Sprinkle chocolate shavings or cocoa powder on top of the whipped cream to your liking.
