Method

Fries

  1. 1

    Prepare the Fries

Preheat the oven according to the package instructions for the frozen French fries. Spread the fries in a single layer on a baking sheet and drizzle with vegetable oil. Toss to coat evenly.

  2. 2

    Bake the Fries

Bake the fries in the preheated oven for the time indicated on the package, usually around 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Stir halfway through for even cooking.

Chili

  1. 3

    Cook the Beef and Onions

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and diced onion. Cook until the beef is browned and the onion is translucent, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.

  2. 4

    Add Garlic and Spices

Stir in the minced garlic, chili powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Cook for another 2 minutes until fragrant.

  3. 5

    Add Tomato Sauce and Beans

Pour in the tomato sauce and add the drained kidney beans. Stir to combine, then reduce heat to low and let simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Assemble

  1. 6

    Combine and Serve

Once the fries are done, remove them from the oven and place them on a serving platter. Top with the chili mixture and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top. Add sliced jalapeños if desired. Serve immediately.
