Meat Sauce Preparation

Cook the Meat
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onions and minced garlic, sauté until onions are translucent.

Add Ground Beef
Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula.

Add Tomatoes and Seasonings
Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, basil, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer and let cook for 20 minutes.

Mix the Cheese Ingredients
In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well blended.
Assembly and Baking

Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).

Layer the Lasagna
In a baking dish, spread a layer of meat sauce on the bottom. Place 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce, followed by half of the ricotta mixture, and a third of the mozzarella. Repeat the layers, ending with a final layer of meat sauce and remaining mozzarella on top.

Bake the Lasagna
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is golden and bubbling.

Let it Rest
Remove the lasagna from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
