Stuffed French Toast Sliders

Method

Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the French Toast Batter

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well combined.

  2. 2

    Assemble the Sliders

Spread cream cheese on one side of each slice of sourdough bread. On half of the slices, add a spoonful of fruit compote and top with another slice of bread, cream cheese side down, to create sliders.

  3. 3

    Cook the Sliders

Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat. Dip each slider in the egg mixture, allowing them to soak for a few seconds. Place in the skillet and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side. Repeat with remaining sliders.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Foster Sauce (Optional)

In a separate pan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar and allow it to dissolve. If using, add rum and sliced bananas, cooking until the bananas are soft and the sauce is bubbly.

  5. 5

    Serve

Serve the stuffed French toast sliders warm, drizzled with foster sauce (if prepared), topped with whipped cream, and dusted with powdered sugar.
