Bananas Foster French Toast Ingredients

Method

Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Bananas Foster Sauce

In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the brown sugar and stir until dissolved. Slice the bananas and add them to the skillet, cooking for about 2 minutes until they begin to caramelize. Carefully add the dark rum and vanilla extract, stirring gently. Let it cook for another minute, then remove from heat.

  2. 2

    Prepare the French Toast

In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Dip each slice of bread into the mixture, allowing it to soak for a few seconds on each side.

  3. 3

    Cook the French Toast

In a separate skillet or griddle over medium heat, melt a little butter. Cook the soaked bread slices for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until golden brown.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Dish

Place the cooked French toast on plates. Spoon the warm bananas foster sauce over the top, sprinkle with pecan pieces, and add a dollop of whipped cream. Dust with powdered sugar to taste.
