Brownie Directions

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and line an 8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper.

  2. 2

    Melt Chocolate and Butter

In a heatproof bowl, combine the dark chocolate and unsalted butter. Melt them together over a pot of simmering water, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

  3. 3

    Mix Sugar and Eggs

In a separate bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar and eggs until combined. Add the vanilla extract and mix well.

  4. 4

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the melted chocolate mixture to the sugar and egg mixture, stirring constantly until well combined.

  5. 5

    Add Dry Ingredients

Sift in the cocoa powder and salt. Fold gently until just combined, being careful not to overmix.

  6. 6

    Bake the Brownies

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it out evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

  7. 7

    Cool and Serve

Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Cut into squares and serve with caramel sauce and ice cream.
