Burger Ingredients

Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Caramelize the Onions

Heat a skillet over medium heat with a little olive oil. Add sliced onion and cook slowly, stirring occasionally, until golden brown and caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.

  2. 2

    Sauté the Mushrooms

In the same skillet, add sliced mushrooms and cook until they are browned and tender, about 5-7 minutes. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Patties

In a bowl, combine the ground beef (or Impossible meat) with salt and pepper. Form into two equal patties.

  4. 4

    Cook the Patties

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Add olive oil, then place the patties on the grill. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side, then flip and add cheese on top. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes or until desired doneness.

  5. 5

    Prepare the Basil Aioli

In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise, chopped basil, and a pinch of salt.

  6. 6

    Assemble the Burger

Toast the burger buns if desired. Spread mustard and tomato jam on the bottom bun. Place the cooked patty on top, then add caramelized onions, sautéed mushrooms, and a dollop of basil aioli. Top with the other half of the bun.

  7. 7

    Cook the Bacon (optional)

If adding bacon, cook the slices in a skillet until crispy and then layer them on top of the burger before serving.

  8. 8

    Serve

Serve the Brasserie Burger with fries or a side salad.
