Burger Preparation

1

Caramelize the Onions

Slice the onion thinly. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the onions and a pinch of salt, stirring occasionally. After about 10 minutes, add sugar to help caramelize. Cook until the onions are golden brown and soft, about 20-25 minutes. Set aside.

2

Prepare the Patties

In a bowl, combine ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Form the mixture into 4 equal patties.

3

Cook the Patties

In the same skillet used for the onions, add butter and heat over medium-high. Add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of taleggio cheese on top of each patty to melt.

4

Assemble the Burgers

Toast the milk buns in the skillet until golden brown. On the bottom half of each bun, place a butter lettuce leaf, followed by the patty with melted cheese, and a generous amount of caramelized onions on top. Finish with the top half of the bun.
