Brewing Instructions

  1. 1

    Mashing

Add the pale malt and caramel malt to 20 liters of heated water (around 65°C) and let it steep for 60 minutes.

  2. 2

    Boiling

After mashing, remove the grains and bring the liquid to a boil. Add Cascade hops and boil for 30 minutes.

  3. 3

    Final Hops Addition

Add Citra hops and boil for an additional 10 minutes.

  4. 4

    Cooling

Cool the wort rapidly to about 20°C using a wort chiller.

  5. 5

    Fermentation

Transfer the cooled wort to a sanitized fermentation vessel, pitch the yeast, and seal with an airlock. Ferment for about 1-2 weeks at room temperature.

  6. 6

    Bottling

Once fermentation is complete, bottle the beer with a small amount of sugar to carbonate. Let it carbonate for another 1-2 weeks.

  7. 7

    Enjoy

Chill the bottles for a few hours before enjoying your homemade Phillips Iota Pale Ale!
