Method

Baguette Preparation

1

Prepare the Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy. Add the flour and salt, and mix until it forms a dough.

2

Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

3

First Rise

Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.

4

Shape the Baguette

Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C). Punch down the risen dough and shape it into a baguette. Place it on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.

5

Second Rise

Cover the shaped baguette with a cloth and let it rise for another 30 minutes.

6

Bake the Baguette

Make slashes on top of the baguette with a sharp knife. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes until golden brown. Let it cool before slicing.

Assembly

7

Prepare the Meats

Arrange the prosciutto, salami, and chorizo on a wooden board or platter in an appealing manner.

8

Add the Cheeses

Cut the brie, cheddar, and gorgonzola cheeses into wedges or small blocks and place them alongside the meats.

9

Include the Pickles

Add the cornichons, pickled red onions, and pickled cucumbers to the board, filling in any gaps between meats and cheeses.

10

Serve

Slice the toasted baguette and serve it alongside the charcuterie board for dipping and spreading.
