Focaccia Dough

Bagna Cotta

Method

Focaccia Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dough

In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead Dough

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    First Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

  5. 5

    Shape Focaccia

Punch down the dough, then transfer it to a greased baking sheet. Use your fingers to dimple the surface and spread it out.

  6. 6

    Second Rise

Cover the focaccia with a cloth and let it rise for another 20-30 minutes.

  7. 7

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

  8. 8

    Bake

Drizzle olive oil over the top and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

Bagna Cotta Preparation

  1. 9

    Heat Oil and Butter

In a small saucepan, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat until melted.

  2. 10

    Add Garlic and Anchovies

Add minced garlic and anchovy fillets to the pan. Cook for about 3-5 minutes, stirring until the garlic is soft and the anchovies dissolve.

  3. 11

    Finish with Spices

Stir in the red pepper flakes and chopped parsley. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly before serving.
