Candied Oranges

Method

Prepare Candied Oranges

  1. 1

    Slice the Oranges

Wash the oranges thoroughly and slice them into thin rounds, removing any seeds.

  2. 2

    Make the Syrup

In a medium saucepan, combine sugar and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.

  3. 3

    Candy the Orange Slices

Add the orange slices to the syrup and reduce heat to low. Simmer for about 45 minutes, turning occasionally, until the oranges are translucent.

  4. 4

    Dry the Orange Slices

Remove the candied oranges from the syrup and place them on a wire rack to cool and dry for at least 2 hours.

Coat with Dark Chocolate

  1. 5

    Melt the Chocolate

In a microwave-safe bowl, combine dark chocolate and coconut oil. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until melted and smooth.

  2. 6

    Dip the Oranges

Once the candied oranges are cooled and dried, dip each slice into the melted chocolate, ensuring they are fully coated.

  3. 7

    Set the Coated Oranges

Place the chocolate-covered oranges back on the wire rack or on parchment paper to cool and harden.
