Tuna & Avocado Tartare
Method
Preparation Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Avocado
Cut the ripe avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a bowl. Mash gently with a fork, then add the fresh lime juice, salt, and pepper to taste. Mix well and set aside.
- 2
Prepare the Tuna
Carefully dice the raw tuna into small cubes using a sharp knife. Place the diced tuna in a separate bowl.
- 3
Make the Citrus Ponzu Sauce
In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and minced ginger. Mix well to create the citrus ponzu sauce. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if necessary.
- 4
Combine Tuna with Sauce
Pour the citrus ponzu sauce over the diced tuna. Gently fold the tuna with the sauce until evenly coated. Be careful not to mash the tuna.
- 5
Assemble the Tartare
On a plate, use a ring mold or a small bowl to layer the marinated avocado first, pressing it down gently. Next, add the ponzu marinated tuna on top of the avocado.
