Method
Strawberry Syrup Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Strawberries
Wash the fresh strawberries under cold water. Remove the stems and cut them into halves.
- 2
Cook the Syrup
In a medium saucepan, combine the halved strawberries, granulated sugar, and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat while stirring continuously.
- 3
Simmer
Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 15 minutes until the strawberries break down and the mixture thickens.
- 4
Strain the Syrup
Remove from heat and let it cool slightly. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a bowl to separate the syrup from the solids. Discard solids and let the syrup cool completely.
Cocktail Preparation
- 5
Prepare the Glass
Fill a cocktail glass with ice cubes to chill while you prepare the drink.
- 6
Combine Ingredients
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add 2 oz of Absolute Citron vodka, 1 oz of fresh lemon juice, and 1 oz of the homemade strawberry syrup.
- 7
Shake the Cocktail
Secure the lid on the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.
- 8
Strain and Serve
Remove the ice from your cocktail glass and strain the mixture from the shaker into the glass.
- 9
Add Club Soda
Top the cocktail with 4 oz of club soda for a refreshing fizz.
- 10
Garnish and Enjoy
Garnish with fresh mint leaves. Serve immediately and enjoy your Strawberry Fields cocktail!
