Method

Cooking the Pasta

  1. 1

    Boil the Linguine

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the linguine pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta and set aside, reserving 1 cup of the pasta water.

Preparing the Sauce

  1. 2

    Sauté the Garlic

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil and butter. Once the butter has melted, add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté for about 1-2 minutes until the garlic is fragrant but not browned.

  2. 3

    Add the Shrimp

Add the shrimp to the skillet and season with salt and black pepper. Cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.

  3. 4

    Deglaze the Pan

Pour in the white wine and lemon juice, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Let it simmer for about 2-3 minutes until the alcohol has evaporated slightly.

  4. 5

    Combine with Pasta

Add the cooked linguine to the skillet, tossing everything together. If the mixture seems dry, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.

  5. 6

    Finish with Parsley

Sprinkle the chopped parsley over the pasta and shrimp, tossing again to combine. Adjust seasoning with more salt and pepper if necessary.
