Pasta

Method

Cooking Pasta

  1. 1

    Boil the Pasta

In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt and the elbow macaroni. Cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes.

  2. 2

    Drain the Pasta

Once cooked, drain the macaroni in a colander and set aside.

Making Cheese Sauce

  1. 3

    Melt Butter

In the same pot used for the pasta, melt 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter over medium heat.

  2. 4

    Add Flour

Whisk in 1 tablespoon of all-purpose flour and cook for about 1 minute to create a roux.

  3. 5

    Add Milk

Slowly pour in 2 cups of milk, whisking continuously to prevent lumps. Bring to a simmer.

  4. 6

    Add Cheeses and Spices

Stir in 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese, 4 ounces of cream cheese, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1 teaspoon of onion powder, 1 teaspoon of paprika, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, and 0.5 teaspoon of cayenne pepper until smooth and creamy.

Cooking Gator Meat

  1. 7

    Prepare Gator Meat

In a skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat. Season 1 pound of diced alligator meat with 0.5 teaspoon of salt and 0.5 teaspoon of black pepper.

  2. 8

    Cook the Gator

Add the seasoned gator meat to the skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes until browned and cooked through.

Combining and Baking

  1. 9

    Combine Ingredients

Add the drained macaroni and cooked gator meat to the cheese sauce. Stir until well combined.

  2. 10

    Prepare Baking Dish

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish.

  3. 11

    Add Toppings

In a small bowl, mix 0.5 cup of breadcrumbs and 0.5 cup of grated Parmesan cheese. Sprinkle over the mac and cheese mixture. Optionally, top with chopped parsley.

  4. 12

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
