Prosecco Frosting

Method

Cupcake Base Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Cream Butter and Sugar

In a separate bowl, cream the softened butter until smooth. Gradually add the sugar mixture and beat until fluffy.

  4. 4

    Add Eggs and Milk

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, mix in the milk and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.

  5. 5

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.

  6. 6

    Fill Cupcake Liners

Spoon the batter into the cupcake liners, filling each about two-thirds full.

  7. 7

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  8. 8

    Cool

Remove from the oven and let the cupcakes cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Prosecco Frosting Preparation

  1. 9

    Beat Butter

In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy.

  2. 10

    Add Sugar

Gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing on low speed until combined.

  3. 11

    Incorporate Prosecco

Pour in the Prosecco and vanilla extract, and beat on medium speed until the frosting is light and fluffy.

  4. 12

    Adjust Consistency

If the frosting is too thick, add a little more Prosecco. If it's too thin, add more powdered sugar until the desired consistency is reached.

Assembly and Garnish

  1. 13

    Frost the Cupcakes

Once the cupcakes have cooled completely, use a piping bag or a knife to frost each cupcake generously with the Prosecco frosting.

  2. 14

    Add Garnish

Sprinkle edible glitter or sprinkles on top of the frosting and place half a fresh strawberry on each cupcake for garnish.

  3. 15

    Serve

Serve the Cupcake Prosecco Split immediately and enjoy with a glass of chilled Prosecco!
