Crab and Flavorings
Optional Toppings
Method
Preparation
- 1
Mix the Base Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise. Blend them together until smooth and creamy using a hand mixer or a spatula.
- 2
Add Crab and Flavorings
Gently fold in the crab meat, chopped green onions, garlic powder, Old Bay seasoning, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Make sure to mix everything thoroughly but carefully to avoid breaking up the crab meat too much.
Cooking (if serving hot)
- 3
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Transfer to Baking Dish
Pour the crab dip mixture into a baking dish and spread it evenly.
- 5
Add Toppings (optional)
If desired, sprinkle shredded cheese on top of the dip. You can also add a dash of paprika for color and chopped parsley for freshness.
- 6
Bake the Dip
Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or until the dip is hot and bubbly, and the cheese (if used) is melted.
Serving
- 7
Serve Hot or Cold
Once baked, remove the dip from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving. Serve with crackers, toasted bread, or vegetable sticks. If serving cold, refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
