Method
Blueberry Syrup Preparation
- 1
Make the Blueberry Syrup
In a small saucepan, combine fresh blueberries, granulated sugar, and water. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the blueberries break down and the mixture thickens, about 10 minutes.
- 2
Strain the Syrup
Remove the saucepan from heat and let it cool slightly. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a clean jar, pressing the blueberries to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the solids and let the syrup cool completely.
Cocktail Assembly
- 3
Combine Ingredients
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine 2 oz of Tito's vodka, 1 oz of fresh squeezed lime juice, and 1 oz of the homemade blueberry syrup.
- 4
Shake Well
Shake the cocktail shaker vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.
- 5
Serve
Strain the mixture into an ice-filled glass. Top with 4 oz of ginger beer and gently stir to combine.
- 6
Garnish
Optional: Garnish with a few fresh blueberries and a slice of lime for presentation.
