Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Tuna

In a shallow dish, combine lime juice, chili oil, salt, and black pepper. Place the tuna loin in the dish, turning to coat it in the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Cilantro

While the tuna is marinating, rinse the fresh cilantro under cold water. Pat dry with a paper towel and roughly chop the cilantro leaves.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Sear the Tuna

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, remove the tuna from the marinade (reserving the marinade) and place it in the skillet. Sear the tuna for about 2-3 minutes on each side for medium-rare, adjusting the time based on your preferred doneness.

  2. 4

    Rest the Tuna

Remove the tuna loin from the skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Serving

  1. 5

    Serve the Tuna

Slice the tuna loin into thick steaks and arrange on a serving plate. Drizzle with the reserved marinade, sprinkle the chopped cilantro over the top, and garnish with lime wedges and additional cilantro leaves.
