Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tuna

Pat the tuna loin dry with paper towels and season generously with salt and black pepper on all sides.

  2. 2

    Chop Cilantro

Rinse the cilantro under cold water, shake off excess moisture, and chop the leaves roughly.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Heat the Pan

In a skillet, heat the chili oil over medium-high heat until it starts to shimmer.

  2. 4

    Sear the Tuna

Carefully place the seasoned tuna loin in the hot skillet. Sear for about 1.5 to 2 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or longer if desired.

  3. 5

    Add Lime Juice

Once the tuna is seared, remove it from the skillet and immediately drizzle lime juice over the tuna loin.

Serving

  1. 6

    Garnish and Serve

Slice the tuna loin into thick slices, garnish with chopped cilantro, and serve immediately.
