Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Meat

Remove the Japanese Wagyu A5 New York Strip from the refrigerator and allow it to come to room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Generously season both sides of the Wagyu steak with sea salt and black pepper.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Sear the Steak

Heat a cast-iron skillet or grill over high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned Wagyu steak and sear for 2-3 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Adjust the cooking time according to your preferred doneness.

  2. 4

    Add Flavor

During the last minute of cooking, drizzle the soy sauce and sesame oil over the steak, allowing the flavors to soak in.

Serving

  1. 5

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the heat and let it rest for 5 minutes to retain its juices.

  2. 6

    Slice and Garnish

Using a sharp knife, slice the steak against the grain into thin strips. Arrange the slices on a plate and garnish with chopped scallions, shaved daikon radish, and microgreens.
