Bolognese Sauce
Method
Bolognese Preparation
Brown the Meat
Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef to the pot. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, about 8-10 minutes.
Season the Sauce
Add the salt, black pepper, oregano, and basil. Stir to combine all ingredients.
Simmer
Bring the sauce to a simmer. Reduce the heat to low and let it cook uncovered for about 30-45 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens.
Cook Rigatoni
While the sauce simmers, cook the rigatoni according to package instructions in a large pot of salted boiling water. Drain and set aside.
Combine and Serve
Once the sauce is ready, toss the cooked rigatoni with the Bolognese sauce until well coated. Serve hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
