Applesauce Ingredients

Method

Applesauce Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Apples

Peel, core, and chop the Macintosh apples into small pieces.

  2. 2

    Cook the Apples

In a large pot, combine the chopped apples, water, and ground cinnamon. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce to a simmer.

  3. 3

    Simmer the Mixture

Cover the pot and let the apples simmer for about 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are soft and mushy.

  4. 4

    Mash the Apples

Remove the pot from heat. Using a potato masher or fork, mash the softened apples to your desired consistency.

  5. 5

    Add Maple Syrup

Stir in the Runamok maple syrup to sweeten the applesauce. Adjust sweetness to taste.

  6. 6

    Cool and Serve

Let the applesauce cool before transferring it to jar or container. Serve warm or chilled.
