Steak and Marinade

Bread and Toppings

Method

Marinating the Steak

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, minced garlic cloves, chopped fresh rosemary, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Steak

Place the ribeye steak in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag. Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it is well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, up to 2 hours for best flavor.

Cooking the Steak

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill or a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook the Steak

Remove the steak from the marinade and let it come to room temperature (about 10 minutes). Once hot, add the steak to the grill or skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or adjust time according to your desired doneness.

  3. 5

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked, transfer the steak to a plate and cover loosely with foil. Let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.

Assembling the Sarnie

  1. 6

    Toast the Bread

While the steak is resting, lightly toast the slices of bread on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 7

    Slice the Steak

Slice the steak against the grain into thin strips.

  3. 8

    Build the Sarnie

Spread mayonnaise on one side of each slice of toasted bread. Layer the lettuce leaves, sliced tomato, and cheddar cheese on one slice. Add the sliced steak on top of the cheese, then drizzle with hot sauce to taste. Top with the second slice of bread, mayonnaise side down.

Serving

  1. 9

    Serve

Cut the sandwich in half and serve immediately while hot. Enjoy your Steak Sarnie!
