Cauliflower Preparation

Method

Cauliflower Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cauliflower

Remove the leaves and stem from the cauliflower. Cut the head into thick slices, approximately 1-inch thick to form 'steaks'.

  2. 2

    Season the Cauliflower

In a large bowl, combine olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Toss the cauliflower slices in the mixture until well coated.

Barbecue Sauce

  1. 3

    Make the Barbecue Sauce

In a medium saucepan, combine ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir over medium heat until the sauce is warm and well mixed, about 5 minutes.

Grilling

  1. 4

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F or 204°C).

  2. 5

    Grill the Cauliflower

Place the seasoned cauliflower slices directly on the grill. Grill for about 5-7 minutes per side, or until they are tender and have nice grill marks.

  3. 6

    Baste with Barbecue Sauce

During the last few minutes of grilling, brush both sides of the cauliflower with the barbecue sauce. Grill for an additional 2-3 minutes to caramelize the sauce.
