Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 2

    Prepare the Baking Dish

Grease a baking dish with butter to prevent sticking.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Bread

Tear the day-old bread into bite-sized pieces and place them evenly in the greased baking dish.

Custard Mixture

  1. 4

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and brandy. Whisk until well combined.

  2. 5

    Pour Over Bread

Pour the custard mixture evenly over the torn bread in the baking dish, ensuring that all pieces are soaked.

  3. 6

    Let it Soak

Allow the mixture to sit for about 15-20 minutes to let the bread absorb the custard.

Baking

  1. 7

    Bake the Pudding

Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the custard is set.

  2. 8

    Cool Slightly

Once baked, remove the pudding from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Serving Suggestions

  1. 9

    Add Toppings
