Preparing the Ice Cream Base

Mix Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is smooth.

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a lid and refrigerate the mixture for at least 2 hours, or until thoroughly chilled.

Once chilled, pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.
