Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Sprinkle both sides of the beef sirloin steaks with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Sear the Steak

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the steaks and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side until browned. Remove the steaks from the skillet and set aside.

Gravy Preparation

  1. 3

    Sauté the Onions and Garlic

In the same skillet used for the steaks, reduce the heat to medium and add the sliced onion. Sauté until the onions are translucent, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  2. 4

    Make the Gravy

Pour in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce. Bring the mixture to a simmer. In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with the water until smooth. Gradually add the cornstarch mixture to the skillet while stirring, allowing the gravy to thicken.

  3. 5

    Finish the Dish

Once the gravy has thickened, return the seared steaks to the skillet. Spoon the gravy over the steaks and let them simmer in the gravy for about 5 minutes. Stir in the butter until melted and incorporated.
