Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). This will ensure that the potatoes cook evenly and get crispy on the outside.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash the russet potatoes thoroughly under cold water to remove any dirt. Pat them dry with a paper towel.

  3. 3

    Season the Potatoes

Prick each potato several times with a fork. Rub the potatoes with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and black pepper to taste.

Baking

  1. 4

    Bake the Potatoes

Place the potatoes directly on the oven rack or on a baking sheet. Bake for 45-60 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the skin is crispy.

Toppings

  1. 5

    Prepare Toppings

While the potatoes are baking, prepare your toppings. Cook bacon until crispy and crumble it. Chop the chives.

  2. 6

    Assemble the Loaded Baked Potatoes

Once the potatoes are done, remove them from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Cut a slit down the center of each potato and gently push the ends to fluff the inside. Add a tablespoon of butter, followed by sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, and chopped chives on top.
