Method

Filling Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Berries

In a large mixing bowl, combine the fresh mixed berries. Gently add the granulated sugar, all-purpose flour, lemon juice, and cinnamon to the berries. Toss gently to coat the berries evenly and allow to sit for 15 minutes to release their juices.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Topping Preparation

  1. 3

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

  2. 4

    Combine Wet Ingredients

Add the milk and melted butter to the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined; be careful not to overmix.

Assemble and Bake

  1. 5

    Combine and Pour

Pour the berry mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Spoon the topping mixture evenly over the berries, covering as much of the filling as possible.

  2. 6

    Bake

Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 45-50 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the topping comes out clean.

  3. 7

    Cool and Serve

Remove the cobbler from the oven and let it cool for about 10-15 minutes before serving. Serve warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
