Method
Preparation
- 1
Boil the Water
In a kettle, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over medium-high heat.
- 2
Add Tea
Once the water is boiling, add 4 tsp of black tea leaves or tea bags. If using loose leaves, consider using a tea infuser to prevent leaves from floating in the tea.
- 3
Steep the Tea
Remove the kettle from heat and let the tea steep for 3 to 5 minutes, depending on how strong you prefer your tea.
- 4
Strain the Tea (if necessary)
If you used loose tea leaves, strain the tea into a teapot or directly into cups to remove the leaves.
Flavoring
- 5
Add Sugar or Honey
If you like your tea sweet, add 2 tablespoons of sugar or 1 tablespoon of honey to the hot tea and stir until dissolved.
- 6
Add Lemon Juice (optional)
For a citrusy flavor, add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice and stir well.
- 7
Add Milk (optional)
If you prefer a creamier tea, pour in 1 cup of milk and stir until combined.
