Method

For the Chicken

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

In a bowl, combine olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Chicken

Add the chicken breasts to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover and let marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.

  3. 3

    Grill the Chicken

Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium heat. Grill the marinated chicken breasts for about 6-7 minutes on each side or until fully cooked and juices run clear. Remove from the grill and let rest.

For the Homemade Buns

  1. 4

    Prepare the Dough

In a small bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Let sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

  2. 5

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

  3. 6

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 7

    Let the Dough Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

  5. 8

    Shape the Buns

Once risen, punch down the dough, divide into 4 equal pieces, and shape each piece into a bun. Place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.

  6. 9

    Bake the Buns

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Let the shaped buns rise for another 30 minutes. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Let cool.

For the Toppings

  1. 10

    Prepare the Toppings

Wash and dry the lettuce, slice the tomato, pickles, and onion as needed.

Assemble the Sandwich

  1. 11

    Build the Sandwich

Cut the buns in half. Place a grilled chicken breast on the bottom half of each bun. Top with lettuce, tomato slices, pickles, and onion slices. Place the top half of the bun on each sandwich.
