Filling

Method

Filling Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Peaches

Wash, peel, and slice the fresh peaches into thin wedges. You should have about 6 cups of sliced peaches.

  2. 2

    Mix the Filling

In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches with granulated sugar, lemon juice, ground cinnamon, and flour. Toss until the peaches are evenly coated. Let the mixture sit for about 10 minutes to allow the juices to release.

Topping Preparation

  1. 3

    Prepare the Topping Mixture

In another bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

  2. 4

    Add Wet Ingredients

Gradually stir in the milk and melted butter into the dry mixture until just combined. The batter should be slightly lumpy.

Assembly and Baking

  1. 5

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 6

    Assemble the Cobbler

Pour the peach filling into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spreading it evenly. Then, spoon the topping batter over the peaches evenly.

  3. 7

    Bake

Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the topping comes out clean.
