Chicken Tenderloins

Cream Gravy

Method

Chicken Tenderloins

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

Rinse the chicken tenderloins under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Set Up Breading Station

In a shallow bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk.

  3. 3

    Bread the Chicken

Dip each chicken tenderloin first into the flour mixture, then into the egg mixture, and finally back into the flour mixture to coat thoroughly.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Fry the Chicken

Carefully add the breaded chicken tenderloins to the hot oil, cooking in batches if necessary. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.

  6. 6

    Drain and Serve

Remove the chicken tenders from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve hot with cream gravy or your choice of dipping sauce.

Cream Gravy

  1. 7

    Make Roux

In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Once melted, whisk in the all-purpose flour and cook for about 2 minutes, stirring constantly until golden brown.

  2. 8

    Add Milk

Gradually whisk in the milk, ensuring there are no lumps. Continue to cook, stirring frequently, until the gravy thickens, about 5-7 minutes.

  3. 9

    Season the Gravy

Add salt and black pepper to taste, and stir to combine. Remove from heat.
