Prepare the Ingredients
Begin by slicing 4 medium bananas into thin rounds and set aside.

Combine Dry Ingredients
In a medium saucepan, combine 2 tbs of granulated sugar, 1 tbs of cornstarch, and 1 tsp of salt. Mix well.

Cook the Mixture
Place the saucepan over medium heat and cook the mixture, stirring constantly until it thickens and starts to bubble (about 5-7 minutes).

Flavor the Pudding
Once thickened, remove from heat and stir in 1 tsp of vanilla extract. Mix well and let it cool slightly.

In a large serving dish, layer the bottom with 1 cup of vanilla wafers, followed by a layer of the sliced bananas (half of the sliced bananas).

Pour half of the pudding mixture over the banana layer and spread evenly.

Repeat the layers by adding another cup of vanilla wafers, the remaining sliced bananas, and the rest of the pudding.
