Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the spinach

Wash the fresh spinach thoroughly under running water. Remove any tough stems and chop the leaves coarsely.

  2. 2

    Chop the artichokes

If using canned artichoke hearts, drain and rinse them. Chop the artichokes into small pieces. If using frozen, thaw and chop them.

  3. 3

    Sauté the onion and garlic

In a skillet over medium heat, add a splash of olive oil. Add the finely chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté for about 3-4 minutes or until the onion is translucent.

Mixing

  1. 4

    Combine the ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped spinach, artichokes, softened cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, grated Parmesan cheese, sautéed onion and garlic, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 5

    Mix until smooth

Using a spatula or a hand mixer, blend all the ingredients together until the mixture is smooth and well combined.

Baking

  1. 6

    Preheat the oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 7

    Transfer to a baking dish

Pour the spinach dip mixture into a baking dish and spread it evenly.

  3. 8

    Bake

Bake the spinach dip in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.

Serving

  1. 9

    Set up for serving

Once baked, remove the spinach dip from the oven and let it cool slightly.

  2. 10

    Serve with chips and salsa

Serve the warm spinach dip with tortilla chips and a side of salsa for dipping.
