Method

Preparing the Steak

  1. 1

    Season the Ribeye

Rub the ribeye steak on both sides with salt and black pepper. Allow it to sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before grilling.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill over hardwood to a high temperature, around 450-500°F (232-260°C).

  3. 3

    Grill the Steak

Place the seasoned ribeye steak on the grill. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes for medium-rare doneness (internal temperature of 130-135°F or 54-57°C). Adjust the time according to your preferred doneness.

Making the Herb Butter

  1. 4

    Combine Ingredients

In a small bowl, mix the softened unsalted butter, chopped parsley, chopped thyme, and minced garlic until well combined.

  2. 5

    Shape and Chill

Transfer the herb butter mixture onto a piece of plastic wrap. Roll it into a log shape and twist the ends to seal. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

Serving the Steak

  1. 6

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked, remove the ribeye steak from the grill and let it rest for about 5 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute.

  2. 7

    Serve with Herb Butter

Slice the ribeye steak against the grain and top each serving with a slice of the chilled herb butter. Serve immediately.
